HIV/AIDS remains a significant public health issue in Nepal, particularly in rural and marginalized communities where awareness and medical access are limited. Sudurpashchim Province has one of the highest risks due to migration, lack of education, and stigma surrounding the disease. Sammunnat Nepal Foundation is committed to educating, supporting, and empowering individuals to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and ensure that those affected receive the care and respect they deserve.

Our Mission

Through counseling and awareness programs, we aim to:

Educate Communities: Providing accurate information about HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, and treatment.
Break Stigma & Discrimination: Encouraging open discussions to remove the fear and misconceptions surrounding HIV/AIDS.
Offer Free Counseling: Supporting affected individuals and their families with mental health and social guidance.
Promote Safe Practices: Spreading awareness about safe sexual behavior, regular testing, and medical assistance.

How did this come to our attention?

During the 19th century a profusion of charitable organizations emerged to alleviate the awful conditions of the working class in the slums. The Labourer’s Friend Society, chaired by Lord Shaftesbury in the United Kingdom in 1830, aimed to improve working-class conditions. It promoted, for example, the allotment of land to labourers for “cottage husbandry” that later became the allotment movement. In 1844 it became the first Model Dwellings Company.

There was strong growth in municipal charities. The Brougham Commission led on to the Municipal Corporations Act 1835, which reorganized multiple local charities by incorporating them into single entities under supervision from local government.
